STEEL PLATE / STEEL SHEET
OUR STEEL PLATE MANUFACTURING PROCESS
Hot rolled sheets are manufactured at elevated temperatures on rolling mills, resulting in a material resistant to work hardening and with decreased levels of residual stress from deformation. However, material rolled in the hot rolled condition may necessitate more extensive leveling practices downstream, such as temper passing or stretcher leveling, to eliminate coil memory. Furthermore, hot rolling can leave surface imperfections like scale or pits, requiring additional finishing processes to achieve a smooth surface.

FAQ
For shipbuilding, there are general strength, high strength and ultra high strength shipbuilding steel plates. For buildings, industrial structures, cabinets, enclosures, pipe and tubing, mild steel plates which are low carbon steel are used as it exhibits good strength and can be galvanized to provide corrosion resistance. High tensile steel plates are stronger and tougher than carbon steel. It is highly formable, ductile and weldable. Commonly for truck frames, crane-booms, railcars. Chequered plates are commonly used for floor as a with diamond pattern for safety.
The common ship plates Width x Length are 1829mm x 9144mm and 2438mm x 9144mm. The thickness can ranging from 6mm to 150mm.
The common chequered plates Width x Length are 1219mm x 2438mm and 1524mm x 3048mm. The thickness can range from 2.3mm to 12mm.
The weight of a steel plate varies according to the type of steel plate, size and thickness. Please explore the table in this page for the weight in accordance to the size.
There are multiple Grading system. Generally, grade A has Yield Strength at 235 N/mm2 while EH40 has higher Yield Strength at 390 N/mm2.
